My firstborn has begun pre-school!!!
So, he missed the first two days of school because of a cold so the third day (he only goes three times a week) we finally made it and I had to sit at the back of the room the whole time. I left once to use the restroom (really, to see how he would react) and he just fell apart. The director had to come out and get me.
The next week we tried again. I stood in the back of the room and just when I ducked down he looked back and again, he fell apart. Unfortunately for him, the principal happened to be checking out the class and took my son out. He gave him a choice, cry in his (principal)'s office or play in the classroom. My son cried for an hour! I was ready to take him home but the principal kept telling me it was going to be ok. I pretty much decided I wasn't going to bring him back the next day.
But after an hour he was ready to play and he did! When I went to pick him up he came running to me so excited he stayed all by himself! He went back the next day but that was it. He didn't want to go the third day. Hubby said not to push it so I let him stay home the rest of the week. BUT the next week he said he wanted to go to school and he has been happily going ever since!!!
He even gets a little disappointed when it's not a school day!
Praise the LORD!!!

awhhhh!!!! this is such a cute video! i love how IO is walking backwards and then basically tells you to stop the recording on his way to play!! sounds like it was a tough start, but well worth it! E started pre-K as well, taking a bus from her daycare. she didn't seem to have any trouble with it, thank GOD!
ReplyDeletewhat an improvement and advancement !!! Thank God, I thought it may take few weeks for him getting used to going school, we are relieved....
