Free fishing day

Mt Shasta Fish Hatchery sponsors three "free fishing" days in the summer for kids.
We didn't know about the first two but made it to the last one.
It was so fun! We saw huge salmon (those were not a part of the
fishing) in special tanks and caught trout in the pond. Each child was
allowed to catch two fish each- and they stocked the ponds so the kids
were guaranteed fish.
For some odd reason, CG had such an easy time. Dad would put a worm
on her hook, throw it in for her, she'd hold the pole and soon
after get a bite. B, on the other hand, tried and tried but it took
a long time for him to get bites. Maybe it was her nonchalance. . .
she was more interested in our lunch box. . .

I will make you fishers of trout. . .

What a beauty! The fish looks good, too!

B caught our biggest one which was good since he would've
been unhappy if CG caught a bigger one!

Another one for B! (CG caught another one, too, but
I just didn't put the picture up)

Another fun day for the Oh!s
(Dad keeps saying he should have strung
the fish on a line- it would look so much better!)

  1. Mmmmmm... did you get to bring them home to cook? :o) The first time I went fishing, I dropped the pole and ran away from the flopping fish as fast as my little legs could carry me! Looks like your kids did better.
